Back to Bach

Baroque Voices:

“Back to Bach” - SUNDAY 30 Nov 2025, 2.30pm at St Mary of the Angels, Boulcott St, Wellington…

2025 marks the 340th anniversary of JS Bach’s birth, and to celebrate this genius composer, Baroque Voices will sing his six vocal motets, written in the first third of the 18th Century. These motets contain some of Bach’s most sublime and virtuosic polyphonic writing, for eight-part ‘double choir’, five- and four-part choir… We will be performing them with one singer per voice-part, joined by baroque cello / viola da gamba player Imogen Granwal providing basso continuo in some motets. More information coming soon…
