As part of the Wellington Cathedral TGIF concert series, the trio Elementi (Pepe Becker, soprano/shruti-box/mbira; Monica Verburg, flutes; Nicholas Hancox, viola) presents "From the far point of the rising of the sun..." - works centred around themes of love/devotion and the beauty and wonder of Nature, spanning the distant (yet connected) points of European/Western music from Medieval times to the 21st Century; including pieces by Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179), Guillaume de Machaut (c.1300-1377), and contemporary NZ composers Becker and Verburg.
