2025 marks the 340th anniversary of JS Bach’s birth, and to celebrate this genius composer, Baroque Voices will sing his six sacred vocal motets, written in the first third of the 18th Century. Rarely heard in New Zealand, these German motets contain some of Bach’s most sublime and virtuosic polyphonic writing, for eight-part ‘double choir’, five- and four-part choir. We will be performing them with one singer per voice-part, joined by baroque cellist Imogen Granwal providing basso continuo in some motets…
